Biography

An experienced helicopter and fixed-wing pilot, Graham Lavery takes advantage of his bush-flying assignments to capture images of some of the most spectacular country in western Canada – places that few people have ever seen or ever will. His photographs of helicopter operations appear regularly in industry publications, including Vertical Magazine, where he is also a contributing editor. Graham has also undertaken commercial photography assignments for operators like Bristow Group, one of the world's largest providers of helicopter services.

Graham's photographic interests are as diverse as his personal ones. Graham has traveled and photographed extensively throughout Vietnam, and worked in support of Children's Hope in Action, a small Non-Government Organization based in Hoi An. He has photographed military operations in Afghanistan as an embedded reporter, and scenes of ordinary life in Kabul as an appreciative visitor. Passionate about eating well, he has documented great food experiences from Southeast Asia to Tuscany. Graham also finds plenty of inspiration near his home in Powell River, on British Columbia's photogenic Sunshine Coast.

Graham's most recent exhibition was in October 2008 at Bemused Bistro in Powell River, a popular showcase for local artists.
